An opportunity is simply a problem that needs a solution. You do not need millions of shillings to spot or start an opportunity.

Step 1: Spot the Friction

Look around your local area and answer these three questions:

  • What do people in my community complain about daily? (e.g., transport, access to fresh inputs, phone charging, digital form filling like eCitizen).
  • What product or service forces people to travel to the nearest major town to buy?
  • What manual task can be speeded up or made easier using digital tools?

Step 2: Set 30-Day Action Milestones

Dream big, but execute in small steps:

  • Days 1–10 (Research & Skill): Spend 1 hour daily on YouTube or web searches learning everything about that specific service or trade.
  • Days 11–20 (Talk to 10 People): Ask 10 potential customers in your area: “If I provided this service for X shillings, would you use it?”
  • Days 21–30 (Run a Small Test): Test the service with 2 or 3 people at cost price to get feedback and build your first success story.

Action Challenge for Today: Identify ONE problem in your local center or village today. Write down two simple ways someone could solve it.
